Linking to Astronomia.org
Thanks for linking to Astronomia.org contents. To obtain the bests results when linking, you may want to read the following indications:
Linking to Homepage
Astronomia.org is available in several languages, which is why there are two ways to link to the home. You can link to the 'root' address:
http://astronomia.org/
in which case the server tries to automatically determine your preferred language. But you may choose to link directly to the home for a particular language. At the time of writing, four homepages are available, each corresponding to a language:
http://astronomia.org/index.en.html (English) http://astronomia.org/index.html (Spanish) http://astronomia.org/index.it.html (Italian) http://astronomia.org/index.pt.html (Portuguese)
Links to Yearly Ephemerides
When linking to the lists of yearly phenomena (eg. moon phases of the year, etc.), you can choose between two alternative ways. The first is to link directly to a particular year, for example:
http://astronomia.org/2009/fasesluna.en.html http://astronomia.org/2009/eclipses.en.html http://astronomia.org/2009/fenogeoc.en.html http://astronomia.org/2009/calfugaces.en.html
But in many cases it will be more convenient to use the alias /actual/, which always points to the current year:
http://astronomia.org/actual/fasesluna.en.html http://astronomia.org/actual/eclipses.en.html http://astronomia.org/actual/fenogeoc.en.html http://astronomia.org/actual/calfugaces.en.html
In this case, if we were in 2009 the identifier /actual/ would redirect to 2009, if we were in 2010 to 2010, and so on. In this way, you can set a single link which is valid for all subsequent years, without having to change it yearly. Remember that this alias is only valid for the lists of events outlined above, and not for other ephemerides.
Stability of the Links
This website has the policy to preserve the navigation structure whenever possible, to avoid "broken links" to our pages. Furthermore, the existence of links to Astronomia.org pages is controlled through the web logs. If links to a page are detected, the URL to such page is intended to be respected in future website upgrades, or the appropriate redirection could be provided.
Do not link images directly
If you want to refer to an image you found at this web site, then link to a page that includes it. The addresses (URLs) of individual images are not considered part of the website navigation structure, and are subject to change. Sometimes these changes are unavoidable due to abusive use (mainly hotlinking) of the images.
Embedding Resources (hotlinking)
Remember that hotlinking (the practice of embedding images on a website that are served by another site without approval) is unethical and goes against the terms of use of this site.
No Link Exchange
Astronomia.org's policy is to not exchange links or banners with other sites, in order to not distort the structure of the Web. The pages of this site often include a small set of links to other websites, always sites with original contents and highly relevant to the matters covered in the referring pages. Of course, if you are aware of some site that could fit these guidelines and want to suggest it, you may want to contact the administrator.
